Graduation and the Life after...

About 2 years ago, I embarked on my journey to pursue a career in the footwear industry. It was a risky change, but I had to try because I couldn't bare the thought of living my old life forever... 2 intense years later, here I am, graduated from FIDM with the highest honor, full of confidence, and ready to take on the industry!

First day of FIDM still vividly lives in my head - it was rainy and cold. I was curious, slightly insecure, but my excitement was not affected. I did not know what to expect whatsoever, all I knew was that this was a chance of a lifetime, and I will not get it again, so I better do something great with it.

My graduation was everything I had imagined: with loved ones in a sunny day at the Staple's Center. I was lucky enough to already have a few job opportunities lined up, so all I had in my mind was how to maximize this golden phase, and the game began...

I decided on a full time freelance gig for a start-up, instead of a 9 to 5 job with some pretty famous names. My reason was simple: starting out at a small company is very advantageous because I will learn everything in a shorter period of time. Also, I needed my freedom and creativity certainly does not always come during business hours. It's also nice to know that I can travel whenever I want, which is a big part of my life.

I feel lucky for all that has happened, and I am truly grateful for all my family and friends who supported me, financially and mentally, through all this. You guys will not be disappointed because I know I am going to do something great, I can feel it!
