Concept to Fruition: Chairing Style Final Product!

About 10 months ago, I was part of a FIDM competition sponsored by Cotton Inc. (read about details here). I vividly remember the 3 months that I spent on this garment, and all the tears, late nights, and swearing that accompanied the journey. At many points during the 3 months, I questioned myself and doubted the outcome, but I learned to put all that aside and focus on the tasks right in front of me - action is still more valuable than thoughts.

10 months later, watching the garment walking down the annual FIDM Debut Fashion Show was one of the proudest moments I have experienced yet. Then, at the end of the show, I found out that I won 2nd place, and received a handsome scholarship check for it!

It was a much needed reassurance because I am not one of those people who just naturally possess unbeatable confidence, I need continuous proof. This competition was a good proof because I competed with very talented peers who worked equally hard, which made the results that much more valuable. After 2 years of being a student (again), I am finally confident in who I am, what I can do, and what my future holds.
