Shoe-gasm of the Day - Nicholas Kirkwood

I am doing some research on my favorite shoe designer for an school application, and I decided on writing about Nicholas Kirkwood. His beautiful creations caught my attention about a year ago, and I have been in love with them ever since. I am drawn to his shoes and aesthetics because they are a little over the top, very loud, but by no means tacky. This design principle of pushing the boundary just a little less of too much is how I would like to design. I love his futuristic shapes, daring use of neon colors, and clever incorporation of cut-outs. His shoes speak a language of sassiness, confidence, and playfulness all at the same time – like  someone I would like to be, which probably is one of the main reasons that he is my favorite right now.

Below are some of my favorite of his past designs, so outrageous, so loud, so cool!

Sadly, they are a little (well, actually a LOT) out of my price range right now, but I am hopeful that one day, I will take them home. =)
